Do you get a deal at dollar stores?

Reading this article made me think if the trips I make there are worth it? Not so much.

Food/toiletries/plastic products are not safe, electronics are of poor quality, and we use only natural cleaning products (vinegar/baking soda/elbow grease).

Some things I have/do pick up there:
> A quick gift(candle, etc) and a gift bag
> microfiber cleaning cloths
> dishwashing gloves
> glass dishware (bowls, etc)
> dish sponges

    I always buy wrapping paper and frames there. I think most of the stuff is crap. But there are some good finds there, for sure. (I've actually got some nice frames - not large ones - just smaller ones).

    I had heard the tip that packing materials were cheap there, but the one near me does not carry any envelopes or packing materials - so no help there.

    Oh yeah - I often pick up party supplies there too - plastic table clothes and pastic/paper ware, etc. I', just so stocked up on that stuff I haven't bought any in a while.

    My house cleaner likes to use the Awesome cleaner that I get at the Dollar store (I have to provide all cleaning supplies... and she requests certain brands). She swears Awesome is best for carpets and she has been in business for 15 years. I also buy greeting cards and sometimes hand cleaner if it is made in USA.
